Day 20 of “A 30 Day Journey into Stillness”

At some point in my journey into stillness, I realized just how deeply entrenched my habit of seeking God outside of myself was. While this habit has brought some interesting — and even helpful — people, ideas, and techniques into my life — it cannot match the  life-changing event of having God (Consciousness) wake-up within “me.” From an “outside” point of view — which ego is very good at — this sounds entirely egotistical and even crazy. At the very least it is heretical, and only a few centuries ago, I would have been killed for uttering such outlandishness. Adding to the transformative nature of Consciousness, I have also found it to be highly relational! How could it not be? It is not separate from who we are.
