Day 26 of “A 30 Day Journey into Stillness”
Pressure on the separate self is foundational in any transformational spiritual practice. Unfortunately, many of us mistake this pressure or “squeeze” as a sign that we need to “escape.” We feel that we either need to leave the Teaching or the Teacher, or the situation that appears to be manifesting the discomfort (i.e, our intimate relationships). We then deny ourselves the opportunity to learn to be with — neutrally observe — our own personal discomfort, and we remain spiritually disconnected. The reason for this is that as spiritual beings, we are already “whole beings.” As such, all aspects of ourselves are included. We become willing to integrate all aspects of who and what we are in our life.
